Which option to book

Canyon X and Lower accept all ages on the daily service, while Upper requires ages 8 and up. Page and Las Vegas match from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November, with Page 1 hour ahead otherwise.

Option Departures
Antelope Canyon X, All Ages 5:15 a.m., daily
Lower Antelope, All Ages 5:15 a.m., daily
Upper Antelope, Ages 8+ 5:15 a.m., daily
Means: Choose Canyon X for the 15-hour trip if your budget matters most and everyone can manage steep stairs.

The catch: Your 15-hour tour can start with earlier hotel pickup, and the return stops don't cover every pickup hotel.

Route

How does the day work?

You travel through Utah to Page for a guided canyon walk and the Horseshoe Bend overlook before returning to Las Vegas.

  1. pass by
    1. Virgin River Gorge

The drive threads through the Virgin River Gorge. You stay in the vehicle as the road passes between steep rock walls.

  2. pass by
    2. Kanab

Kanab passes outside your window. The Utah town sits among red rocks and has been a setting for Western films.

  3. pass by
    3. Glen Canyon Dam

Glen Canyon Dam comes into view with Lake Powell beside it. You see the dam from the road.

  4. pass by
    4. Lake Powell

The reservoir's shoreline runs between red rock cliffs. Your lake views come from the vehicle as it follows the route toward Page.

  5. pass by
    5. Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument

Grand Staircase-Escalante's rock formations are part of the drive. The monument adds views across the desert landscape without a separate walk along its trails.

  6. 90 min
    6. Horseshoe Bend overlook

The overlook walk totals 1.5 miles or 2.4 km out and back. Expect a gentle uphill on the way back to the vehicle.

  7. 60 min
    7. Antelope Canyon

Your selected section has a Navajo guide. The walk takes you between narrow sandstone walls, with daylight entering through openings overhead.

The canyon visit has 60 minutes, while Horseshoe Bend has 90 minutes. The 15-hour day ends at Treasure Island or Excalibur. Park MGM is the third return stop.

Pickup and meeting point

  • Pickup and return: Treasure Island is the default pickup, at its bus area on Mystere Dreams Avenue. Return drop-offs are Treasure Island or Excalibur, with Park MGM also available.
  • Pickup message: Your dated pickup instructions arrive within 2 days of departure. Use that hotel's Las Vegas boarding appointment, which can be earlier than the tour start.
  • Booking voucher: Bring the booking voucher for boarding. If your bags stay at the hotel, you need time to store them before reaching the bus.
  • Vehicle luggage: The allowance is one piece of luggage per guest. Extra bags aren't covered by that allowance and need an advance request at an extra charge.

Before you book

  • Canyon X isn't a walk without steps. Check that you can manage its steep staircase without walking aids before the Horseshoe Bend walk.

Fit

Is this tour right for you?

Canyon X suits families who want the entry price and can handle steep stairs. Children under 8 can join that option. Upper starts at age 8. Your choice changes the canyon visit while the 15-hour road day stays the same.

For a smaller group, MaxTour carries up to 14 travelers from $269.99 per person. National Park Express's private tour offers Lower from $303.45 per person in a group of 29 for 29 if your party needs its own vehicle.

Means: Choose Canyon X for most family budgets, provided everyone can manage its staircase without walking aids.

Who it's not for

  • Travelers who need canes or walkers in the canyon
  • Children under 8 choosing Upper
  • Anyone with a show or flight booked after the tour

Good to know

Know before you go

Children by canyon

Upper requires a minimum age of 8. Canyon X and Lower accept younger children too. Anyone aged 17 or under needs an adult, and your chosen canyon still requires unassisted walking.

Water and footwear

One bottle of water comes with your lunch. Bring extra water for the walking stops. Comfortable walking shoes suit the uneven ground, and a hat helps with sun exposure.

Canyon gear

Bags can't accompany you into the canyon. Tripods and video recording are also barred during the walk. Walking aids aren't allowed, so the bus ride doesn't make the visit accessible to everyone.

Pickup and lunch

Treasure Island and a turkey sandwich are the defaults. Your pickup and meal choices need changing through customer support immediately after booking. Waiting until boarding can leave those defaults in place.

Weather and minimums

Local canyon staff decide weather closures. If the departure minimum isn't met, you may get another date or a replacement tour. A full refund is another option.

Booking and cancellation

A reservation holds up to 30 travelers. Your voucher is mobile, and free cancellation ends 24 hours before departure. You don't receive a refund for a later cancellation.
