Options

Which option to book

Red Rock's base rental costs from $56.99 per adult for 4 hours, with ramp delivery included. The dry-bag option adds one 10-liter bag per two guests. All kayaks are due by 5 p.m.

Option Departures
Kayak & Hike Antelope Canyon every 60 minutes from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Kayak and Dry Bag Rental every 60 minutes from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Means: Choose Kayak and Dry Bag Rental if you need a 10-liter dry bag for two people.

The catch: A 4-hour rental may leave too little time for the full hike. Shore carry arrangements need settling before booking.

The day

How does the day work?

A ramp briefing sets you up to paddle Lake Powell and choose your own walk into Antelope Canyon.

  1. 1
    Antelope Point check-in

You meet an employee at the bottom of the public ramp. There's a waiver to sign before staff explain the route and give paddling tips.

  2. 2
    Lake Powell paddle

The boat is delivered to Antelope Point for your launch. You paddle toward Antelope Canyon without a guide, choosing the pace of your trip.

  3. 3
    Antelope Canyon hike

The hike follows Antelope Canyon's lake end. Upper and Lower walking tours need separate bookings. Your walking distance must leave time for the return paddle.

  4. 4
    Antelope Point return

Your 4-hour rental ends back at Antelope Point Public Launch Ramp. The 5 p.m. deadline doesn't extend the booked window.

The paddle alone can take 2.5 to 3 hours, while paddling and hiking can take 4 to 6 hours. Plan a shorter walk within your 4-hour rental. You'll return to Antelope Point Public Launch Ramp.

Pickup and meeting point

  • Getting there: Drive yourself to Antelope Point Public Launch Ramp. Kayak delivery doesn't include a ride for passengers, and you'll also need transport afterward.
  • Shore access: You walk downhill beyond the public ramp to collect your kayak. Check who handles the shore carry before booking. Agree your return time at handover.

Before you book

  • A 4-hour rental doesn't promise time for the full hike. The paddle and canyon walk take 4 to 6 hours. It depends on your pace.

Fit

Is this tour right for you?

Independent paddlers get a 4-hour window once shore carry and boat fit are settled. Double kayaks suit pairs. Choose a canyon walk that leaves time for the return paddle. The dry-bag option adds a 10-liter bag if you don't have one.

If you want the carry handled, Red Rock's guided tour starts from $113.56 per person for 6 or more. The lowest price is for 6 to 11 guests. Antelope Kayak's rental gives you a flexible start and a 5 p.m. return from $68 per person.

Means: Book the 8 a.m. dry-bag option after settling shore access and boat fit if you need storage for your paddle.

Who it's not for

  • Anyone unable to walk downhill to the kayaks
  • Travelers with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health
  • Anyone needing a guide throughout the paddle
  • Anyone expecting overnight use

Good to know

Know before you go

Ages and adults

Every booking needs an adult. Adult prices start at age 12 and child prices cover ages 5 to 11, with an infant band only on the base option. Fare bands don't establish a minimum participation age or life-jacket fit.

Gear and food

You'll need your own drinking water and snacks. The base rental doesn't include a dry bag. Wear shoes for shore access and canyon walking, and keep your supplied life jacket on while paddling.

Weather changes

Weather can cancel your rental. You then receive another date or a full refund. Check the forecast before launching, since high winds can turn the lake crossing into a harder paddle.

Booking and phone

You can reserve for 1 to 15 people in one booking. Your reservation is issued immediately and used on your phone. This rental leaves your party to paddle without a guide.

Meeting and Page time

Antelope Point check-in uses Page time, or MST year-round. Navajo Nation clocks run one hour ahead from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November. Otherwise the clocks match, so keep your phone on Phoenix time.

Refund deadline

You keep the right to a full refund until 24 hours before departure. Later cancellations aren't refunded. That cutoff still matters if you've booked a morning start and your travel plans change.
