Options

Which option to book

The Performance Kayak rental costs from $68 per person, including paddles and life jackets. Daily pickup runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Page time, with return by 5 p.m. that day.

Option Departures
Performance Kayak every 60 minutes from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily
Means: Pick 8 a.m. if you want the longest rental window before the fixed 5 p.m. return.

The catch: You'll pay late fees after 5 p.m. A separate damage deposit also applies.

The day

How does the day work?

You paddle from Antelope Point to Water Antelope Canyon and decide how far to explore on foot.

  1. 1
    Antelope Point gear pickup

You collect the kayak by the waterfront trailers. Your chosen start time falls between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. that day.

  2. 2
    Lake Powell paddle

You paddle onto Lake Powell from Antelope Point. There's no guide alongside you, so the route and pace are yours to manage.

  3. 3
    Water Antelope Canyon hike

You can land for a walk in the dry lake-side canyon. Other paddlers and boats share the approach, and your rental doesn't reserve it.

  4. 4
    Antelope Point return

The rental ends back at the same launch. All kayaks are due by 5 p.m. that day, with extra charges if you're late.

Your booked start opens a same-day rental window ending at 5 p.m. A later pickup gives you less paddling time. You return the boat to Antelope Point Launch Ramp.

Pickup and meeting point

  • Parking: Navajo Route 22B leads to the entrance just before Marina Parkway. The large lot is on your left facing the lake, above the waterfront trailers.
  • Meeting directions: Your gear pickup is down by the water. Google Maps is the recommended way to find the ramp because Apple Maps may lead elsewhere.
  • Transport and bags: Bring your own dry bag for valuables. Gear delivery covers the kayak, so you'll still need to arrange passenger transport to Antelope Point and back.

Before you book

  • Check the assigned boat's weight allowance and deposit amount before booking. An undamaged return releases your deposit within 7 business days.

Fit

Is this tour right for you?

Independent paddlers get same-day use with return by 5 p.m. Boat fit and the deposit amount need settling before booking. You're responsible for your route and return. Your party travels without a guide once you launch.

For guidance on the water, Antelope Kayak's tour starts from $119 per person. Pairs can take Red Rock's rental with a standard double kayak from $56.99 per adult. Its 4-hour window needs a shorter route if the full hike won't fit.

Means: Book the 8 a.m. Performance Kayak start after settling boat fit and deposit terms for the longest same-day window.

Who it's not for

  • Children under 5
  • Pregnant travelers
  • Anyone who wants a guide on the water
  • Anyone planning to keep the kayak past 5 p.m.

Good to know

Know before you go

Children and boats

Participants must be at least 5 years old. A parent or guardian must accompany children ages 13 and younger. Tandem kayaks are available on request, so arrange one before you reach the launch.

Clothing and supplies

Clothing that dries quickly works for a day on the water. You'll need your own drinking water and food. A dry bag protects valuables, and a waterproof phone case isn't included.

Weather changes

Weather or operational problems can move your start time. If Antelope Kayak cancels your rental day, you're offered a new date or a full refund.

Booking size

You can book for 1 to 30 travelers at once. No guide joins the rental on the water. Booking is immediate, and you'll show the reservation on your phone.

Meeting and Page time

Antelope Point check-in uses Page time, or MST year-round. Navajo Nation clocks run one hour ahead from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November. Otherwise the clocks match, so keep your phone on Phoenix time.

Cancellation deadline

A full refund is available when you cancel at least 24 hours before departure. Cancellations after that cutoff receive nothing back. This deadline covers the rental reserved through the booking page.
