Route
How does the day work?
Your visit starts at Ken's fee booth before you join your Navajo guide for the walk through Lower's stairs and passages.
- 60 min
1. Lower Antelope Canyon
Stairs and ladders link the narrow passages. Along the walk, your Navajo guide explains the rock formations and the culture of the people who live nearby.
The guided walk through Lower lasts 60 minutes. Check-in is 30 minutes before it starts. The route brings you back to Ken's at the canyon site.
Pickup and meeting point
- Canyon arrival: Ken's is on Indian Route 222. You arrange your own ride there and need to check in 30 minutes before departure.
- Guide meeting point: The yellow "Please Wait Here" sign marks your guide meeting point. It's at the building's southeast corner, and you gather there 10 minutes before departure.
- Footwear: Wear walking shoes that cover your toes. Ken's requires them for the tour, which includes stairs and ladders along the canyon route.
- Bags and cameras: Bags and tripods aren't allowed. Selfie sticks and GoPros can't come either, so your camera needs to work without those accessories.
Before you book
- This isn't a tour for tripod photography. Bring a phone or handheld camera you can carry through Lower without a bag.

Good to know
Know before you go
Your reservation holds 1 to 15 travelers and must include an adult. Listed activity capacity is also 15. Guests per Navajo guide aren't specified, so the capacity doesn't establish the size of your walking group.
Wear walking shoes with the toes fully covered. Ken's requires them even when the weather is hot. Your route includes stairs and ladders, so everyone must be able to handle those sections during the walk.
A phone or handheld camera fits this walk, but camera accessories face restrictions. Tripods and selfie sticks can't come inside. GoPros and bags are barred too, so any camera you take needs to travel without its case.
Ken's accepts your phone voucher at the fee booth 30 minutes before departure. Set your phone to Phoenix for Page time. Your group meets by the yellow sign 10 minutes before the walk.
Ken's can stop tours when flash flood warnings affect the canyon. Floodwater can arrive from rain beyond the entrance. Your booking's weather arrangements matter if that happens, separately from a decision to cancel your own visit.
Writing on the canyon walls and smoking inside are prohibited. Your Navajo guide leads the visit through the passages. You need to follow the route and leave the sandstone as it is while taking your photos.
