Route
How does the day work?
Three canyons give you an hour each for photography with a Navajo guide.
- 60 min
1. Mountain Sheep Canyon
The route covers Mountain Sheep and Rattlesnake. Owl is also included, and each canyon has an hour for your photography.
The 3-hour photo stops and 30 minutes of travel end back at Highway 98 milepost 302. Adventurous uses Page time, or Mountain Standard Time all year. Navajo Nation clocks run one hour ahead from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November and match Page otherwise.
Pickup and meeting point
- Meeting point: Adventurous meets you at Highway 98 milepost 302. You arrange your own transport from Page because the tour doesn't include hotel pickup.
- Parking: The guest parking lot is south of Highway 98. Your meeting point is on that side of the road.
- Arrival time: Check the arrival deadline with Adventurous for your 8 a.m. departure. The option doesn't give an early check-in time. Your phone should be set to Phoenix.
- What to wear: Closed shoes are required for all three canyons. Bring a cover for windblown sand, and resolve camera bag and tripod permission before packing.
Before you book
- Check camera bag and tripod permission before booking. Adventurous' bag rules conflict, and the 8 a.m. photo option gives no early check-in deadline.
