Route

How does the day work?

Your visit begins at Ken's, where a Navajo guide leads you into Lower before the stair climb back to the surface.

  1. 90 min
    1. Lower Antelope Canyon

Eight staircases lead you back out of the canyon. Your Navajo guide explains the formations along the way, with stops for photos among the narrow passages.

The visit lasts 90 minutes, with 60 minutes on foot. You finish back at Ken's. That leaves your onward travel to arrange.

Pickup and meeting point

  • Meeting point: Ken's Tours on Indian Route 222 is the meeting point. You arrange your own ride to the canyon, and the activity ends back at the same site.
  • Check-in deadline: Arrive 30 minutes before your reserved tour time. Late arrivals don't receive refunds, even when an emergency delays your journey to the canyon.
  • Shoes and support: Shoes must cover your toes, and high heels aren't allowed. Hiking sticks and canes are barred too, so you need to manage the stairs without them.
  • Bags and cameras: The tour bans camera bags. Tripods and stabilizers aren't allowed, and you can't bring a purse or a hydration pack either.

Before you book

  • The listed activity capacity is 55. Your booking is limited to 14 travelers, and guests per Navajo guide aren't specified.

Fit

Is this tour right for you?

VIPTOUR suits you if you want Ken's during the 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Peak Time band. Your date must have an available start. Voluntary cancellations aren't refundable. Timing alone doesn't promise a light beam or a smaller walking group.

National Park Express costs from $94 per adult with midday options and free cancellation until 24 hours before departure. TakeYourTrip costs from $109 per person with free places for ages 0 to 3 if infant charges matter to you. Its bookings are final sale.

Means: Book Peak Time at 11 a.m. when offered if midday is the reason you're choosing this tour.

Who it's not for

  • Travelers who need a cane or hiking stick
  • Visitors who may need to cancel
  • Families expecting free places for infants

Good to know

Know before you go

Booking acceptance

The operator accepts your reservation after you book, and the voucher can be shown on a phone. Your party must include an adult. A requested departure still depends on the operator accepting those places.

Minimum turnout

One reservation can hold 1 to 14 travelers. A minimum turnout requirement also applies to departure, so a booking for one person doesn't promise that the tour will run. The booking limit doesn't reserve a private group.

Ken's arrival

Ken's needs you at its canyon office 30 minutes before your reserved start. Your phone should use Phoenix for Page time, which stays on MST all year. Late arrival can cost your booking without a refund.

Shoes and supports

Wear shoes that cover the toes for the canyon walk. High heels aren't allowed, and hiking sticks or canes can't enter either. You need to manage the stairs without those supports while following your Navajo guide.

Bags and equipment

The bag ban includes purses and hydration packs. Tripods and camera stabilizers can't come along, and GoPros are barred as well. Your camera needs to work without those accessories during the walk through Lower.

Weather closures

Ken's may cancel tours when flash flood warnings affect the route. Rain outside your view can send water into the canyon. Your selected time doesn't override a closure, so any weather notice needs attention before the drive.
