Options

Which option to book

Upper Antelope + Lunch is the single option, with departures throughout the week subject to date availability. Page and Las Vegas match from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November, with Page 1 hour ahead otherwise.

Option Departures
Upper Antelope + Lunch 5:15 a.m., daily
Means: Choose this 15-hour day if Upper matters more to you than selecting a canyon entry time.

The catch: The vehicle allowance is 1 piece of luggage per guest, and you can't take bags or tripods into Upper.

Route

How does the day work?

Selected hotel pickups lead to Upper's guided walk and Horseshoe Bend, with views from the road between stops.

  1. ·
    1. Lake Powell

Lake Powell lies behind Glen Canyon Dam. The reservoir extends into Arizona and Utah, with views across the water along the route.

  2. ·
    2. Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument

Grand Staircase-Escalante adds views across desert rock formations. This part of the day is for seeing the landscape during the journey.

  3. 60 min
    3. Upper Antelope Canyon

Your Navajo guide leads the single Upper walk. Its 60-minute allowance describes the same visit named again in the Upper entry.

  4. 90 min
    4. Horseshoe Bend overlook

The walk to the overlook is 1.5 miles or 2.4 km round trip. The river lies below the cliffs at the end of the trail.

  5. ·
    5. Virgin River Gorge

The Virgin River Gorge is part of the drive through northwestern Arizona. Its rock walls rise beside the road, so you see them from the vehicle.

  6. ·
    6. Glen Canyon Dam

The dam holds back Lake Powell on the Colorado River. The route gives you views of the structure and the reservoir.

  7. ·
    7. Kanab

Kanab is a town you pass through in Utah. Its red rock setting has served as a backdrop for Western movies.

  8. 60 min
    8. Upper Antelope Canyon

This entry refers to the same Upper visit described earlier. It doesn't add a second canyon walk or another 60 minutes.

The single Upper visit has a 60-minute allowance, with 90 minutes at Horseshoe Bend. Your return stops are Treasure Island or Excalibur. Park MGM is also a drop-off.

Pickup and meeting point

  • Pickup location: Treasure Island's bus area on Mystere Dreams Avenue is the default. A different hotel pickup needs arranging after booking with National Park Express.
  • Pickup message: Your dated hotel instructions arrive within 2 days of travel. Arrive 10 minutes before that Las Vegas boarding appointment, which can precede the tour start.
  • What to wear: Comfortable walking shoes are needed for the uneven ground. Upper doesn't allow walking aids, so every traveler needs to manage the walk without them.
  • Vehicle luggage: The allowance is one piece of luggage per guest. Keep your day bag on the bus during Upper, where bags aren't allowed.

Before you book

  • Upper still needs unassisted walking. You must manage uneven ground and changes in slope without a cane or walker.

Fit

Is this tour right for you?

Upper is the reason to choose this 15-hour trip. It suits you if you can leave early and walk without help. You don't select the canyon entry time. Photos are allowed, while tripods and bags stay outside the canyon.

For Lower and a later start, MaxTour costs from $269.99 per person. National Park Express's private tour offers Lower from $303.45 per person in a group of 29 for 29 if your group needs its own vehicle.

Means: Book Upper with lunch for the canyon itself, since the 15-hour trip doesn't secure a light-beam slot.

Who it's not for

  • Travelers who need walking aids inside Upper
  • Photographers who need a tripod
  • Anyone with a fixed evening booking after the tour

Good to know

Know before you go

Upper age limit

The Upper day tour requires guests aged 8 and up. Children through age 17 need an adult along. Your party must still manage uneven ground without walking aids.

Water and shoes

One complimentary bottle of water is included. Bring more for the outdoor walking. Comfortable walking shoes are required, and the trip isn't recommended for pregnant travelers.

Canyon photography

You can take photos throughout the walk. Video and tripods aren't allowed inside Upper. Bags stay on the bus, so your vehicle luggage allowance doesn't carry through to the canyon.

Pickup timing

Hotel instructions arrive within 2 days of travel. Your arrival needs to be 10 minutes before the assigned pickup. An early collection doesn't shorten the day or guarantee your return time.

Closures and minimums

A modified route refunds only missed paid admissions after any processing fee. Low participation can also cancel your departure. In that case, a replacement trip or full refund may be offered.

Booking and cancellation

Your reservation is limited to 9 travelers, with a mobile voucher for boarding. The shared group can be larger. Free cancellation ends 24 hours before departure.
